"Lattice vibrations and nanostructures"

Toulouse, France, 3-4 June 2013

GDRI MECANO is an international scientific network, funded by CNRS, and focused on the mechanical properties of nano-objects.

The workshop dedicated to "Lattice vibrations and nanostructures" will take place in Toulouse at CEMES. It will begin on June 3, 12.00 pm, and finish on June 4, 17.30 pm

The workshop objective is to bring together researchers of various fields for crossover discussions.

It will be organized around three main topics :

1. Lattice vibrations to investigate the mechanical properties of nanostructures (nanowires, nanoparticles…) and nanosystems (NEMS…)

2. Lattice vibrations to characterize internal properties of nanostructures (composition, chemical bonding, strain….) and/or their environment, and to characterize the collective versus individual properties of nanostructures

3. Vibration engineering: nanostructured materials for vibrations generation, enhancement (electron-phonon coupling, non linear effects…) or inhibition (heat dissipation…).

The number of participants will be limited to favor a workshop atmosphere where discussions keep an informal character.

We look forward to meet you at this second GDRi MECANO meeting!
