From Microsensors to Deployable Mobile Laboratory for Chemical and Biological Agents Detection and Identification

The chemical warfare agents (CWAs) have been used in many conflicts and consequently have caused both death and disability to humans. Over the past decades, microsensors prototype has been used for the detection of CWAs agents and the development  of deployable laboratories for the detection and identification of CWAs has become a necessity for the international community in order to minimize casualties. The mobile laboratory technology compliant with STANAG 4632 is based on ISO 20’-1C container equipped with handle Fourier Transform Infra-red spectroscopy, Raman Spectroscopy, Ion Mass Spectrometer (IMS) and Gas Chromatography coupled Mass spectrometer (GC-MS) techniques for real time detection and identification. .The mobile laboratory with the microsensors technology approach can offers rapid, sensitive, on-site detection capability that would meet the requirements for CWA detection.
